Quality vs. Time
Quality in terms of contrast is dependant on speed.
The higher quality selected the longer it will take to burn the image for example anywhere from just a few minutes to say 20min per disk.
A LightScribe label is created in grayscale, similar to a black and white photograph so the overall effect also depends on the background colour of the disk (several background colours are available).
The time needed will vary from drive to drive and the complexity of the image.

Disc example.
Colour?
We see in the not to distant future full colour (color for our US friends) media. This may be achieved by having alternate tracks of Red/Blue/Green and having the laser pick out the pixels required to make any colour.
COLOR LIGHTSCRIBE IS NOT AVAILABLE YET!
