We have produced over 2500 full colour cd/dvd prints using our Epson R210 with the continuous inking system.  We found the colours more vibrant and the coverage better than genuine inks, not to mention the fantastic value and ease-of-use of the system.

We are very happy indeed and will be sticking to this system from now on for all our inkjet printers!

WHAT IS CIS?

b Green = Stop cartridge waste.
b No more replacing cartridges or wondering how much ink is left.
b Easy Installation, supplied instructional DVD too!
b Continuous ink supply means no wasted "Bottom of cartridge" ink.
b Save up to 80% on running costs without sacrificing quality
.

HotConnect FOAMLESS continuous inking printers use add-on systems that are designed to give original performance or better at a fraction of the running cost of genuine cartridges.

Most competing kits have troublesome foam dampers!

Most competing kits have troublesome foam!
You can see the bubbles in the foam!

our systems are foam-sponge free!
No foam = no bubbles and long life..

Our ink system is like an intravenous drip that supplies ink to the printer in place of expensive cartridges. The reason cartridge refilling is problematic is because cartridges contain foam sponges that degrade whereas our systems are foam-sponge free!

With so many kits out there why should I buy a "Foamless" HotConnect kit?

Q. Why do manufactures still use foam in their cartridges?

A. Printer manufacturers understandably do anything and everything to protect their consumable business.

Lets face it printers are really ink vending machines.

So why stick to using foam in cartridges? Well it certainly helps deter refilling. Foam breaks down over time. It also traps air pockets which thereafter inhibits the flow of ink. This is why you ask any experienced cartridge re-filler and they’ll tell you to refill the cartridges well before they are empty. Even then they often get problems.

CIS kits with foam cartridges are prone to developing flow issues because of bubbles.
And thereafter foam kits are extremely difficult to reprime and maintain constant uninterrupted flow.

our systems are foam-sponge free!
No foam = no bubbles and long life..

Any air pockets that develop in a Foamless dampers can be fixed in literally seconds. Little air bubbles like in the yellow cartridge below isn’t an issue
as it will simply float to the top and not inhibit any ink flow. If however a large air pocket forms then a reprime of a foamless damper is as easy as removing the cartridge, holding it upside down AND then raising the ink bottle to flood out the air bubble.

When printers are left unused for extended periods of time they can develop head blockages. These are easily fixed and 90% don’t require a service or a printer that has to be written off. With proper head cleaning fluid kit heads are easily cleared.

Professional "Pro-graphics" printers come fitted with systems very similar to our "CIS" system. The main difference is that they use large (and expensive) cartridges whereas we supply bottles that connect to the ink supply tubes.

INK TYPES

  • Standard DYE ink is budget priced where total colour match is less important than cost (after continued used we have discovered there is virtually no difference between the Standard and Premium Dyes).
  • Premium DYE ink gives the best colour match possible, as used by Camera Clubs. It's suitable for both gloss and matte paper.
  • Ultra-G-Chrome-Max Pigment ink is waterproof and extremely fade resistant. It requires the use of ICC profiles (and a compatible program like Adobe Photoshop) for best results and currently recommended for our 800 & 1800 PRO systems. If you print using high resolution/matte paper (low cost) and mount the print in a frame or laminate it you can't pick it from gloss and it will last almost indefinitely!
  • Quad Black inks are used in a printer that's dedicated to printing the highest possible quality Black and White photos.

If extreme longevity is required consider Pigment ink, you can't
use it on as many types of papers however the professionals choose
it and there are some very nice papers suitable for
pigment ink available. Click above for larger image.

I am a freelance photographer and have been using your Continuous Inking System (CIS) with my Epson printer now for about 6 months. The cost saving by using this inking system has been remarkable, cutting somewhere in the vicinity of 70% of my ink costs.

I use some of my photographs outside in nurseries and the results I’m getting are fantastic.

The pigment inks are lasting really well in the sun and the colour rendition of the prints are superb, especially due to the ICC profiles that you supplied specifically for my ink and paper.

You’ve gone the extra mile and persevered with my initial teething problems and I commend you on your service and professionalism. Many thanks for a great product and wonderful service.

Why HotConnect CIS Systems are superior to cartridges..

Say goodbye to persistent nozzle blockages

The unique design of our cartridges means that persistent nozzle blockages, which all competing products with a sponge inside the cartridge are eventually prone to, are a think of the past. Just have a look at our customer testimonials.

If you're a professional user with an urgent job, you simply can't afford any downtime by leaving your printer off for a couple of hours hoping that your blocked nozzles will clear.

No printer modifications required
With a HotConnect Inking system there's no need to remove the cartridge housing covers or make some other modification to your printer. So there's no risk of all these little prices from the printer getting mislaid over time.

Easy to set up without vacuum pumping

With HotConnect Inking Systems there is no need to set up the product using a vacuum pump. Vacuum-pumping can be quite hit or miss because of the manufacturing tolerances of the products. The unique design of the foamless cartridges means that the unit can easily be set up in minutes.

Use all the colours of your printer
For owners of the Styles Photo 2100 and Styles Photo 2400 printers, there's no need to commit to just photo black or matte black ink, or use a compromising universal black. The unique design of our cartridges allows the "spare" photo black or matte black cartridge to be stored within the printer so that you can easily swap between the two just like swapping normal ink cartridges.

Intelligent chip resetting

Some of our competitors' products have chips on the cartridge that reset automatically each time you turn on the printer.

This means that the printer runs a head cleaning cycle each time the chips are reset. This wastes valuable ink and quickly fills up your printers waste ink pad. Once this pad is full, your otherwise perfectly good printer stops working and requires an expensive service call. Our intelligent chip only resets when the cartridge is actually "empty" We also provide software to monitor and reset the waste pad counter (Service Utility)

No messy or time-consuming refilling
With HotConnect there's no need to put up with the messy chore of refilling cartridges. Just think. To refill, you have to remove the empty cartridge from the printer, refill it using a syringe and reset the chip with a chip resetter. Then you have to clean out the syringe with distilled water and dry it for future use so that it doesn't get contaminated. Those who have done this know just what a hassle the whole thing is. Not all the cartridges run out at the same time so just how much of your precious time are you going to waste by refilling those tiny cartridges?

125ml of high quality colour matched ink with our kits
All our kits come with high quality dye and pigment ink that is matched to the particular printer model, providing a match in both colour fidelity and image permanence with the original cartridges. This combined with our selection of recommended professional papers and printer settings results in photo lab quality prints at a fraction of the cost.

Systems with foam in them may trap air bubbles and deteriorate over time resulting in poor print quality, blockages and frustration. With the unique foamless cartridge system you can re-prime a HotConnect cartridge in under 30 seconds! If you somehow drain a system dry or do something silly you wont loose your investment. You can quickly and easily return the system to new again in minutes.

Full Control
Many whom purchase a HotConnect System comment on a new found freedom. A freedom to print haphazardly and experiment, try new things and not be afraid to print. If you do take full advantage of a Hot Connect system and print truckloads we have the software to reset the printers internal clock count that eventually locks up the printer and also the ability to freeze those annoying ink counters. FAQ's

HotConnect printers are set up for our "CIS" systems, minimum effort is required to prime the system for use but there are
some things that you must do before you can use the printer (instructions included).

We can't transport systems with ink in place because it would end up everywhere.
Printers are not supplied with standard cartridges, they are replaced by our cost saving system and inks.

Ink comparisons calculations are done in good faith (Errors and Omissions Excluded, E. & O.E.) they allow for 10% ink being unusable due to air bubbles in standard cartridges, this is a conservative figure as printing on expensive photo paper may cause you not to risk printing on low cartridges.

When you purchase a HotConnect printer CIS add-on system from a retailer all support is done on-line here at HotConnet not the retailer.

Please see our Warranty and Service pages for more information and procedures.None of the products we supply are "Genuine" manufacturers products (i.e. EPSON, CANON etc.) they (naturally) won't recommend using them.

Printers using inks that require the use of ICC profiles (Ultra-G-Chrome-Max) require you also use a printing program that is ICC/Profile compatible.
For example Adobe Photoshop or Elements.

Warranty on the CIS is system 90 days, the printer has an Epson 12 month warranty but not if you're using CIS so we supply a set of cartridges to fit in case your printer needs servicing.

"..Ink more expensive than champagne.."

Ink for home printers is now seven times more expensive than vintage champagne.

Ink in a typical replacement cartridge costs about £1.70 per millilitre, compared with 1985 Dom Perignon at 23p per millilitre.

The news comes as a Which? survey shows that many cartridges say they are empty long before they are. Some printers warn users that the ink is about to run out. Ignoring the warnings can nearly double the printing output.

Tip: Cleaning the print heads

Head Cleaning Kits

Tip: Cleaning Canon or other non listed Epson heads with Epson kit

All inkjet printers need head cleaning from time to time.

Sometimes the heads remain blocked after you've done a head clean function. This can happen if you leave the printer for a long time between prints. The head cleaning kit above cleans out most blockages that in the past required a printer service. We say most, not all as sometimes you need a new head.

The Kit is for Epson but you can use the fluid for Canon and other non-listed Epson printers too. The instructions for others are:

Step 1
Attach plastic hose to end of syringe. (you may need to vary the end size of the tubing to cover or mate with the ink input hole) Draw around 2-3mls of the cleaning solution into the syringe and to inject very slowly into the printer head. You can work out what colour(s) to clean by the viewing cleaning test print.

Wait 45 minutes then draw the waste liquid back up into the syringe from the printer head. Repeat this step if necessary after step 2.

Step 2
Inject the cleaning solution into the printer head don't draw it back out, leave it in the printer. Put all carts back. Don’t turn on the printer for minimum of 45min. After the time do a head cleaning and a nozzle check. If the pattern has improved but is not quite perfect do another head clean/nozzle check. If there are still solid blockages repeat step 1 and 2.
