With so many brands and specifications where do you start?

First choose the technology:

• Solid Ink (a4)
• Inkjet

The running cost:

As a general rule the cheaper the printer the more the cost per page. What's the use of saving $500 if you will spend an extra $1000 in toner within weeks.

The quality of print:

Toner for business / graphics use. Inkjet for true photo quality. Solid ink is about half way between but only available as A4.

What you get in the box:

You must consider the toner that comes with the printer as many come with "starter" toners that are almost empty once they prime the printer, then you can easily be up for another $1000.
